SUPPORT

OKLAHOMA CITY BALLET NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT

Oklahoma City Ballet is thankful to be celebrating our 50th year of professional performances this season. Without you, we would not be celebrating. The support from our community has helped elevate our organization each year. You have helped us expand our services to new populations, offer scholarships to our dance school, and create memorable experiences for families to enjoy together.

Ticket sales and School tuition account for more than half of our annual income, therefore Oklahoma City Ballet relies on your generosity to keep our mission alive. Please consider a donation of any size so we can continue to celebrate with you for many years to come.

Year-End Giving Strategies

November 29, 2021

Oklahoma City Ballet is so much stronger as a direct result of the generosity of our donors. We offer a flexible platform to meet your charitable goals.

As you think about your year-end giving, here are a few simple strategies to keep in mind.

Take advantage of new Charitable Giving Incentives
You can take advantage of a new Charitable Giving Incentive as part of the CARE stimulus package that includes an above-the-line deduction (universal or non-itemizer deduction that applies to all taxpayers) for total charitable contributions of up to $300. The incentive applies to contributions you make in 2021 and would be claimed on tax forms next year. The bill also lifts the existing cap on annual contributions for those who itemize, raising it from 60% of adjusted gross income to 100%.

Donate appreciated securities over cash.
Doing so results in a charitable tax deduction for the full fair market value of the securities as of the day you donate them, plus you eliminate the capital gains tax you would otherwise incur if you sold the securities first and then donated the proceeds. At the end of the day, you avoid some taxes and have more to donate to your favorite charity.

Donate retirement assets.
Individuals aged 70½ or older can donate up to $100K directly from their IRA through a “Qualified Charitable Distribution” (“QCD”). The QCD is excluded from income for tax purposes. For individuals younger than 70½, a charitable deduction can still help offset the tax liability of a retirement account withdrawal. In 2021, cash donations can be deducted up to 100% of a taxpayer’s adjusted gross income – so there is a greater opportunity to maximize the tax benefit of charitable contributions this year.

SUPPORT OKLAHOMA
CITY BALLET

Oklahoma City Ballet is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and is powered by the generosity of our donors. Without this crucial support, we would lack half of the funds necessary not only to stage our professional productions but also to continue to provide our programs that extend the artistry and athleticism of ballet to wide audiences.

Every one of your financial gifts allows us to present new works, sustain our dancers, provide live music, fund scholarships through The Yvonne Chouteau Dance School, and engage with the community through our various programs.
