RURIE DOBSON

Rurie Dobson joined Oklahoma City Ballet’s delightful Development & Communications team September 2019, in a fortuitous partnership between her nonprofit background and her love of dance. In addition to administering the Ballet’s donor CRM system since she began, she is now also Grants Manager.

A graduate of Oklahoma City University, her prior work experience includes materials traffic coordinator for a Los Angeles motion picture ad agency, director of leadership/major giving with United Way of Metro OKC, and development director for Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy.

Her nonprofit experience also extends to volunteer committee, project, and board work for various civic groups, resulting in Volunteer of the Year, Member of the Year, and Rookie Volunteer Golf Coach of the Year awards.

Rurie took her first dance class her second semester at OCU – and doesn’t sit still much since then if there’s music playing. Her current favorite is Cardio Dance Party in OKC Ballet’s adult and community class program.
