Joined OKC Ballet in 2015
Mayu Odaka trained at the Lauridsen Ballet Center in Torrance, California, where she danced in the pre-professional company South Bay Ballet. She was offered an apprenticeship with Oklahoma City Ballet after participating in the 2015 Summer Intensive and was promoted to Corps de Ballet in 2017 and promoted to Soloist in 2019.
Since joining Oklahoma City Ballet, Odaka’s repertoire has included Helen Pickett’s Petal and Robert Mills’ The Means To Fly, in addition to demi-soloist roles in both George Balanchine’s Serenade and The Four Temperaments. She has also been featured as Lucille Grahn in Robert Joffrey’s Pas des Déesses, The White Cat in Mills’ The Sleeping Beauty, a Cygnet in Mills’ Swan Lake, and Clara in Mills’ The Nutcracker.
