Joined OKC Ballet in 2018
Alison Ramoran began her ballet training in Torrance, California at the age of six, with Diane Lauridsen at Lauridsen Ballet Centre. At age nine she joined the school’s pre-professional company, South Bay Ballet, where she later performed leading roles in productions such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Coppelia, and Peter Pan. While training at Lauridsen Ballet Centre, she had the opportunity to study under Candice Glass Davis, Evyn Davis, Kenneth Walker, Jerry Kokich, Elijah Pressman, Vicki Lambert, Nancy Hebson, and Tiffany Billings. Alison was also presented the Daily Breeze “Making a Difference Award for Oustanding Achievements in the Arts” by the California Legislature Assembly at the 2017 Torrance Performing Arts Consortium.
She attended several RDA/P Festivals during her time with South Bay Ballet, where she performed featured roles in choreographic works by Eva Stone and Robert Kelley. She also trained at summer intensive programs with Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Milwaukee Ballet, and San Francisco Ballet.
Upon graduating from Lauridsen Ballet Centre/South Bay Ballet in 2018, Alison attended Oklahoma City Ballet’s Summer Intensive, after which she was given the opportunity to join Oklahoma City Ballet’s Studio Company for their 2018-2019 season, and later their 2019-2020 season. During her two seasons in Studio Company, she has performed in Robert Mills’ The Nutcracker, Firebird, Romeo & Juliet. She has also performed in Septime Webre’s ALICE (in wonderland), August Bournonville’s La Sylphide, and Michael Pink’s Dracula. Ramoran will be joining Oklahoma City Ballet as an Apprentice in the 2020/21 season.
