TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Greg Aldridge

Greg Aldridge brings an unconventional—and remarkably well-rounded—background to the technical side of the performing arts. A graduate of Oklahoma City University’s Wanda L. Bass School of Music with a Bachelor of Music Education, he began his career as a professional musician before transitioning into higher education, where he recruited and mentored aspiring performers from across the country. During his time at the Bass School of Music, he traveled nationally representing the university, helped improve student retention, and coordinated academic and performance operations for hundreds of music students.

Throughout his career, Greg has remained closely connected to live performance. As an active IATSE stagehand and fly operator, he has worked behind the scenes on Broadway tours, arena concerts, ballet productions, and theatrical performances, helping deliver complex productions where precision, teamwork, and calm decision-making are essential. His backstage experience has included working alongside crews supporting many of the entertainment industry’s largest touring productions, giving him firsthand experience with the professionalism and collaboration required to produce world-class performances.

While Greg’s path to Technical Director has been anything but traditional, it is that diverse experience that has shaped his leadership style. Having worked as an educator, performer, trainer, and production professional, he believes the strongest technical departments are built on trust, communication, continuous learning, and a shared commitment to supporting the artists on stage. He is passionate about creating an environment where performers, technicians, designers, and production staff work together as one team, allowing everyone to do their very best work.

Outside the theatre, Greg has been playing drums for more than 26 years and spent several years touring and performing professionally before moving behind the scenes. He enjoys fly fishing, motorcycles, cooking, and tackling ambitious DIY projects, and is the proud father of his daughter, Ember Rose.
