Joined OKC Ballet in 2016
Mickayla Carr, from Arlington, Texas, trained with Marina Goshko and also at Ballet Frontier of Texas with Chung-Lin and Enrica Tseng. She attended the Oklahoma City Ballet Summer Intensive in 2016 and was offered an apprenticeship with the company. In 2018, she was promoted to the corps de ballet.
Her repertoire includes works by Agnes de Mille, August Bournonville, George Balanchine, Michael Pink, Robert Mills, Roy Tobias, and Septime Webre. Her favorite roles include both Vampiress and Young Girl in Michael Pink’s Dracula and Medora in Le Corsaire pas de deux. Carr is also a ballet teacher and company instructor at Dance Phase Studio in Oklahoma City, as well as a guest teacher for Ballet Center of Fort Worth and Ballet North Texas. She has also been a guest artist with Osage Ballet and Ballet North Texas.
