Mickayla Carr, originally from Arlington, Texas, trained with Chung-Lin and Enrica Tseng at Ballet Frontier for four years, then Marina Goshko for another four years. Carr joined Oklahoma City Ballet as an apprentice in 2016 and joined the corps de ballet in 2018. Her repertoire includes works by Agnes de Mille, August Bournonville, George Balanchine, Michael Pink, Nicolo Fonte, Robert Mills, Roy Tobias, and Septime Webre. Her favorite roles include The White Cat from The Sleeping Beauty, Medora from Le Corsaire, Vampiress from Michael Pink’s Dracula and A Rose from Septime Webre’s ALICE (in wonderland).
Carr is a ballet instructor and company teacher at Dance Phase Studio in Edmond. She is also a guest teacher for Tupelo Ballet, Ballet Center of Fort Worth, and Ballet North Texas.
