Joined OKC Ballet in 2021
James Klump, from Lake Charles, Louisiana, received his early training from Sarah Quinn Jones in his hometown before studying at the Lake Charles Dance Academy under the Direction of Colleen Benoit. In 2015 Mr. Klump joined Lake Area Ballet Theatre, the Academy’s affiliate company, where he performed roles in Coppelia and La Fille Mal Gardee as well as lead roles in Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.
He attended summer intensive programs on full Scholarship at Ballet Magnificat! and Oklahoma City Ballet. Klump joined Oklahoma City Ballet as a trainee in 2020 and was named apprentice for the 2021/22 season. During his trainee season he had the opportunity to perform in Robert Mills’ The Nutcracker and The Little Mermaid, as well as original works by Amanda Herd Popejoy. Favorite roles include Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake and the Cavalier in The Nutcracker.
