ASSISTANT TO THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR & STUDENT PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

ANNIE SMITH

Annie Smith was born and raised in Coweta, Oklahoma, with a passion for the arts that began at a very early age. Originally a classically trained musician, she has since discovered an excitement for arts administration and youth arts programming. This excitement has guided her in her previous positions with The Juilliard School's Music Advancement Program in New York City and The Aspen Music Festival and School in Aspen, Colorado. These experiences have reinforced her commitment to contributing to and supporting programs that are dedicated to providing high-level arts experiences and opportunities to young artists.

Annie holds a bachelor's degree in music performance from Oklahoma State University, and a master's degree in music performance from the Schwob School of Music. During these degrees, she has had the opportunity to perform in various contexts such as chamber ensembles, band, orchestra, musicals, and ballets. This is also where her love for working with students began, through teaching private lessons and working with regional youth orchestras.

She is excited to now bring those experiences back home to Oklahoma and to Oklahoma City Ballet. Her position with Oklahoma City Ballet as Assistant to the Artistic Director and Student Production Coordinator is the perfect way for her to stay connected to the arts and the community that first sparked the passion that has now turned into a career.
