PROFESSIONAL DIVISION: STUDIO COMPANY

OKCB II

Dancers for OKCB II are selected from our Trainee Program or from our Summer Intensive by the Artistic Director. OKCB II provides dancers the experience of working in a professional ballet company environment. In addition to performance opportunities in company productions, OKCB II performs as part of Oklahoma City Ballet's Studio Company. Apprentices for Oklahoma City Ballet are often selected from OKCB II.

trainee program

Students accepted into Oklahoma City Ballet’s Trainee Program will receive intensive classes to refine technique as well as mentorship on the successful pursuit of a professional dance career. Classes include ballet technique, pointe, variations, pas de deux, modern technique, jazz technique, contemporary dance/improvisation, character dance, and conditioning. The comprehensive Trainee Program further includes Dancer Wellness and Audition Process Seminars.

Trainees rehearse and perform Oklahoma City Ballet repertoire in addition to choreography created by the Artistic Staff.  Performance opportunities may include being selected to perform in Oklahoma City Ballet’s main stage productions, community engagement performances with Oklahoma City Ballet’s Studio Company and in The Yvonne Chouteau School Spring Performance. In addition, Trainees will participate in the BRIDGE Choreography Initiative (BCI), where they have the opportunity to gain experience in choreography, marketing, stage management, rehearsal direction, and company management.

This is a tuition based program.
