Studio Company

Oklahoma City Ballet’s Studio Company is comprised of OKCB II and Trainee Program dancers. The Studio Company performs their own repertoire in and around the Oklahoma City Metro.

Dancers for OKCB II are selected from our Trainee Program or from our Summer Intensive by the Artistic Director. OKCB II provides dancers the experience of working in a professional ballet company environment. In addition to performance opportunities in company productions, OKCB II performs as part of Oklahoma City Ballet's Studio Company. Apprentices for Oklahoma City Ballet are often selected from OKCB II.

trainee program

Students accepted into Oklahoma City Ballet’s Trainee Program will receive intensive classes to refine technique as well as mentorship on how to successfully pursue a professional dance career. Classes include ballet technique, pointe, variations, partnering, modern technique, jazz technique, character, and Progressing Ballet Technique. Trainees rehearse and perform Oklahoma City Ballet repertoire in addition to choreography created by the Artistic Staff. Performance opportunities include Winter Showcase, and The Yvonne Chouteau School Spring Performance. Additionally, Trainees may be selected to appear in Oklahoma City Ballet’s main stage productions and community engagement performances with Oklahoma City Ballet’s Studio Company. The comprehensive Trainee Program further includes Dancer Wellness and Audition Process Seminars. This is a tuition based program.

Dancers must have attended the Summer Intensive to be considered for admission to OKCB II and the Trainee Program. No exceptions will be made.

These programs are invitation only and a tuition fee applies. Students will be notified of their acceptance before the end of the Summer Intensive. Trainee Program applicants who have not completed high school must make arrangements for continuing academic studies.

OKCB II and Trainees are responsible for establishing their own housing arrangements. Oklahoma City Ballet may have some year-round housing available and interested dancers should contact with inquiries. Dancers often choose to have a roommate. Dancers must secure their own transportation to and from the Studio or performance venues.
