Maura Moody

Maura Moody, originally from Des Moines, Iowa, began her formal ballet training at the School of Classical Ballet and Dance under the direction of Serkan Usta and Lori Grooters. Following seven years of study with Usta and Grooters, Moody moved to Richmond, Virginia where she started her professional journey.

She danced at Richmond Ballet for two years as a trainee. After attending the 2021 summer intensive program at Oklahoma City Ballet, Moody joined OKCB II for the 2021/2022 season, then was promoted to apprentice for the 2023/2024 season. Moody’s favorite repertoire includes works by George Balanchine, Gerald Arpino, Ma Cong, Ryan Jolicoeur-Nye, Serkan Usta, Lori Grooters, Septime Webre, Robert Mills, Stoner Winslett, and Maria Konrad. Her favorite roles include Bourree Girl Soloist in Birthday Variations, First Movement in Balanchine’s Western Symphony, Swan Corps and Fiancé in Richmond Ballet’s Swan Lake, and Female Card in Septime Webre’s ALICE (in wonderland).
