Cherokee musician Tookah Sapper, from Oklahoma City, holds a Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music in Vocal Performance, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in Vocal Performance, with a Minor in Collaborative Piano. She began piano lessons at age five and began accompanying ballet classes during her time at UCO. After graduating from MSM, she moved to Princeton, New Jersey, where she accompanied ballet classes at the Princeton Ballet School. As a singer, she has recently performed with American Opera Projects, based in Brooklyn, NY, as a member of their Resident Ensemble for Composers & The Voice (2015/16 and 2017/18), and with The Chautauqua Opera Company as a Studio Artist (2017).
Currently based in Oklahoma City, Sapper accompanies ballet and modern classes for the School of Dance at UCO, is an Adjunct Instructor of Voice at UCO, and is a staff singer at Christ the King, in addition to accompanying classes at The Oklahoma City Ballet Yvonne Chouteau School.
