Mr. Naquin is from Cowpens, South Carolina; started dancing at age seven with Ballet Spartanburg under Carlos Agudelo, Lona Gomez, and Cynthia Bernshausen. At 16, he continued training at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts; studying under Ethan Stiefel, Warren Conover, and Douglas Gawriljuk. Eventually, Mr. Naquin joined the Grand Rapids Ballet, under the direction of Patricia Barker, and has danced leading roles in numerous ballets including Siegfried in Mario Radacovsky’s Black and White, Tybalt in Mario Radacovsky’s Romeo and Juliet, Ulysses Dove’s Red Angels, Kirk Petersen’s Amazed in Burning Dreams, Brian Enos’ Cold Winters Waiting, Paul Taylor’s Company B, plus George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, Serenade, Who Cares?, and Rubies. In 2016, Dave joined the Oklahoma City Ballet. With the company, he has danced Robert Mills’ Our Private Rooms, The Means to Fly, Nutcracker, Agnes De Mille’s Rodeo, March Hare in Septime Webre’s Alice in Wonderland, August Bournoville’s La Sylphide and Sarah Tallman’s If These Walls Could Talk. Mr. Naquin is excited for his fourth season with the Oklahoma City Ballet.
